BANKER, Dorothy H. age 100, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Kingston of Miamisburg. She was born June 11, 1906 in W. Carrollton, the daughter of the late Ratio & Carrie Hinkson. She was also preceded, in death by her infant brother Paul and her husband, William E. Banker of W. Carrollton. Dorothy retired in 1971 after teaching Elementary School for 40 years. She taught 14 years at the E.J. Brown School in Dayton, 3 years at the W. Carrollton City Schools and 23 years at the C.F. Holliday Elementary School in Moraine. Although Dorothy had no children of her own, she cherished and nurtured each of her students as if they were her very own. Dorothy was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in W. Carrollton for 90 years, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Teachers Sorority and a prior member of Miamisburg Professional Women's Club. After she retired she lived in Pt. St. Lucie, FL for 30 years and returned to Miamisburg 5 years ago. Dorothy is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the SWART FUNERAL HOME, W. Carrollton. Rev. Gwinn Lacy officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery.
