FAHRNEY, Arthur Emerson age 98 of West Carrollton, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Village in the care of Hospice of Dayton. He was born November 22, 1915 in West Carrollton, the son of the late Arthur & Ada (Miller) Fahrney. Mr. Fahrney was a retired employee of NCR with 40 years of service, and worked part time for the NCR Country Club for 10 years as a starter and ranger. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, a member of the Miamisburg Minerva Lodge #98 F & AM since 1945, Trinity Chapter # 44 a nd Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F), he served on the West Carrollton School Board from 1953-1961 and was a member of the West C arrollton Historical Society. Preceded in death by his first wife Dolores (Case) Fahrney in 1988, second wife Hazel (East) Fahrney in 2004, son Robert L. in 2002, 2 sisters Edith & Ethel, and a brother Calvin. Survivors include his 2 daughters Dede Fahrney & friend Nan Sasher of Summerfield, FL, Janice (David) Henry of Muskegon, MI, son Richard (Janet) Fahrney of Breckenridge, CO, sister Catherine (John) Kreitzer of Miami Twp., 7 grandchildren Jeffrey, Douglas, Robert, Jr., Scott, Lance, Matt Fahrney, Bradley Henry, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 26 N. Locust St., West Carrollton with Pastor Andy Wagner officiating. Burial with Military Honors took place at the Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton.
