SCHUDER, John W. "Bud" age 97 of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 8, 1916 in West Carrollton to the late, Wilbur and Hazel Schuder. Also preceding him in death is his wife, Helen L. (Miller) Schuder (2007); son, Rick Schuder (2012); sisters, Barbara Reese, Phyllis Jean Price and Delores Patterson. Bud is survived by his granddaughter, Jessica (Schuder) Beirise; grandson-in-law, Scott Beirise; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Abbie, Aubrey, and Cate Beirise; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bud is a US Army Air Corps veteran that served in WWII and flew 67 combat missions in the European and North African theater, including the D-Day invasion. Bud received the Distinguished Flying Cross medal, declined the award of the Purple Heart, the Air Medal with two silver oak leaf clusters, two battle stars and held the rank of Tech Sgt. He was a top gunner and radio operator on a B26 Martin Marauder. He has been a longtime member of Parkview United Methodist Church where he served as head usher for 15 years. He retired from NCR as a precision grinder after 26 years of service. In 1975, after retirement, he took a job working at Suttman's Clothing Store in Miamisburg where he worked on the sales floor and embroidered all the varsity letter jackets sold at the store until his late eighties. Bud enjoyed working with leather and was a talented artist. He taught leather skills at Miamisburg Junior High, has won several awards and was a former member of the Buckeye Leather Crafters where he held several offices. Friends and family may visit from 2-4pm on Sunday, September 28 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2pm on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Rudisill officiating. Interment following at Hillgrove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkview United Methodist Church, in memory of Bud.
