KOKENGE, Bernard H. age 91 a lifelong resident of West Carrollton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2009. He was born June 12, 1918 the son of the late Albert & Goldie (Gross) Kokenge. He attended Miami Jacobs Business College, was the owner of the Knot Hole Restaurant for 28 years, served on the W. Carrollton City Council, organized the W. Carrollton Lions Club and was the first President, was a member of Minerva Lodge #98 F & AM, West Carrollton Historical Society, Montgomery County Democratic Party where he served as a committeeman, a member of First Baptist of W. Carrollton, and was honored on the W. Carrollton Walk of Fame. Mr. Kokenge took great pride in his family and is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Grace R. (Lowman) Kokenge, his sons Bernard R. Kokenge and wife Joy, Thomas H. Kokenge and wife Sheri, his daughter Diane Ullery and husband Don E., his sister Patricia Cahill, grandchildren Dawn Joy Keister, Todd R. Kokenge, Christine Sexton and Julia Parks, great grandchildren Britt, Miranda, Tabitha, Joshua, Owen, Alexandra, Ashley, Mallory, Morgan, Madison, Christine and Megan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, 705 S. Elm St., W. Carrollton, Ohio 45449. Rev. Mark Scroggins officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the SWART FUNERAL HOME, W.
