KOKENGE, Grace R. (Lowman) age 95 of West Carrollton, passed away July 18, 2014 peacefully at home. She was born November 7, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio to Charles Sr. & Jean R Lowman. The Kokenge's owned the restaurant "The Knot Hole" in West Carrollton for many years. Grace was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, West Carrollton Historical Society, Lioness Club, and Delta Chi Sigma Sorority. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years Bernard H. Kokenge on September 7, 2009, her siblings Dorothy McClelland (Elliott), Louise Frye (Howard), Mildred Hamilton (Donald), Jerry Shahan, Charles Lowman, Jr. (Mary), Russell Lowman, and sister-in-law Patricia Kokenge Cahill. Mrs. Kokenge is survived by 2 sons Dr. Bernard H. Kokenge (Joy) of Centerville, Thomas H. Kokenge (Sharon) of Miamisburg, and a daughter Diane G. Ullery (Donald) of West Carrollton with whom she resided for the past 14 years, 4 grandchildren Dawn Keister (Karl), Todd Kokenge (Erin), Christine Sexton (Larry), Julie Parks (Matt), 12 great grandchildren Ashley Matheson, Alexandria Mumpower (Joshua), Miranda Keister, Tabitha Keister, Joshua Keister, Mallory Parks, Morgan Parks, Madison Parks, Britt Kokenge, Owen Kokenge, Camille Kokenge, Eleanor Kokenge, a great great grandson Emmett Mumpower, her brother Omar Lowman (Constance) of Hebron, MD, nd a nephew Stephen Cahill (Kim). Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, 705 . Elm Street, West Carrollton, with Rev. Mark Scroggins officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton.
