HARTMAN, Rolen Age 97 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 7, 1920 in Dayton, the son of the late Rolen Ford & Louise (Pontius) Hartman. Mr. Hartman honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII; he was a retired Assembler for Chemineer Co.; a retired Engineer of International Clay Machinery, and retired as the Head of Maintenance at the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the American Legion #165 and the VFW Post #3438; he also was an avid baseball player and the Coach of the girls softball team and was an avid golfer until the age of 92. Preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte, second wife Gloria, 3 grandsons Eric Shook, Michael Fultz & Zachary Rozelle, great grandson Corey Fultz, his brother Willard Hartman, and his sister Clova Pummill. He is survived by 5 daughters Linda Shook, Brenda Cloughessy, Rhonda Rozelle, Kathy Hartman and Gina Guyette, step-son Bill English (Marty), 11 grandchildren Danny (Jen), Heather, Jenni, Starr (Raed), Tyler, Sadie, Kiley, Joshua, Jacob, Brian, & Mark, 18 great grandchildren as well as other family members and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Rev. Joel Getts officiating. Burial Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
