KREITZER, John Jacob age 95 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, August 5th at the Wellington under the care of Hospice of Miami Valley. John was born August 11, 1918, in Greenville, OH, to the late Roy A. and Annie M. (Riley) Kreitzer. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia (Begley) Kreitzer, daughter, Frances Ullery, and brothers: Chalmer D. and Ralph D. John is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Catherine (Fahrney) Kreitzer, and his children: Rosanna (Paul) McKeehen of Miamisburg, Roland "Pete" (Andree) Gephart Jr. of Athens, TN, and Douglas (Maryann) Gephart of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren: Kerry (Christine) Gephart, Jeremy (Michelle) Gephart, Andrew (Jennifer) Gephart, Anne (Eric) Lenz, and six great grandchildren. His surviving and loving siblings are: Mary E. Ballard of Dayton, Ray (Esther) Kreitzer of Eaton, Norma Bowman of Eaton, and Miriam Overhalser of Springfield. John was a 1938 graduate of West Carrollton High School. For 33 years, he worked as a mechanical engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. After retiring in 1972, he worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Dayton teaching computer graphics for ten years. John was also a licensed realtor. He was a loyal member of Masonic Lodge 147, Scottish Rite, Antioch Shrine, and the High Twelve at Dayton #69. John served for ten years on the board of Wright Patterson Credit Union and held the positions of both President and Vice President. A devout Christian and accomplished musician, John felt privileged to sing in many local church choirs. Family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 AM, Monday, August 11th at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville.
