BOWDEN, Billy R. age 91 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was born August 2, 1921 in Sinks Grove, West Virginia, the son of the late George R. & Wilma (Morris) Bowden. Mr. Bowden was retired from Karolton Envelope, honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Alta Bowden on November 16, 2012, a brother Richard Bowden and 3 isters Norma Roberts, Barbara Sheridan and Wilma Salzgeber. Survivors include his 2 sons Thomas Bowden and Jeffrey Bowden both of Dayton, his daughter Linda Ohrt and husband Paul of Mulvane, KS, his brother George Bowden of Waynesville, 2 sisters Doris Kilway of Akron, Sue Parks of Miamisburg, 3 grandchildren Sarah Arthur and husband Dave of Derby, KS, Michael Ohrt and wife Brandy of Palestine, TX, Rachel Johnson and husband Adam of Wichita, KS, 5 great grandchildren Bowden & Riley Arthur, Michael Ohrt, Annabelle & Trenton Johnson, as well as a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Rev. Larry Lambes officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
