McELWEE, Howard L. Age 94 of Lewisburg, OH passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on July 15, 1922 in West Carrollton, the son of the late Charles & Clara (Bissantz) McElwee. Mr. McElwee honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII; he was CPA for over 50 years, a retired Controller for General Motors with over 41 years of service; he was a member of many organization including the American Legion Post #165, Miamisburg, First Grace Brethren Church, Vandalia, the TOM Club for over 30 years and the Ohio CPA Association. Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Elizabeth A. "Libby" McElwee on Jan. 13, 2014, 3 brothers Ledford, Charles & James and by a sister Virginia Pollack. He is survived by 2 sons Daniel H. McElwee (Patricia) of Eaton, David L. McElwee (Christi Miller) of Greenville, daughter Anne E. Tully (Kirby Houck) of Lewisburg, 3 grandchildren Joel H. McElwee (Sarah) of Franklin, Joy Focht (James) of Miamisburg, Shauna Ord (Sean) of Pickerington, OH, 2 great grandchildren Owen & Ava Focht and 1 on the way, as well as numerous other family members and many friends. A private graveside service was held at the Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton, with Military Honors. Arrangements entrusted to the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton.
