ROWLAND, Donald E. Age 87 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 24, 1930 in Kingston, OH, son of the late Raymond & Hazel (Smith) Rowland. Donald was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a retired employee of the Kroger Co., and a member of the Milton Athletic Club. Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Kelly) Rowland, and an infant son, William David Rowland, Donald is survived by his daughter, Kelly Wright (Thomas); 3 sons, Donald R., Richard M. (Gail) and Michael A. (Bethany) Rowland; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 20 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with family friend, Tony Norvell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until time of service.
