McALLISTER, Ramona "Rae" Shell 78, of Martinsville Virginia. She was a graduate of the West Carrollton High School class of 1949. She was born May 15, 1931 in Ohio to Orville and Esther Sommers Shell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and her first Husband Jack L. Combs. She is survived by her husband James "Mac" Rowan McAllister, two daughters, Debbie Whitlow of Martinsville and Sherry Huskisson of Austin, Texas; two sons, Mike Combs, and Jamie McAllister both of Atlanta, GA; sister Vera Grushon of Bellbrook, OH; eight randchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial service was held on Saturday August 29th at the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, VA where she was a member, Rev, Ken Hughes officiated. She was born May 15, 1931, in Ohio to Orville Shell and Esther Sommers Shell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers. She was a member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church and served as an elder, and she was a member of Chatmoss Country Club. She also was a volunteer at Grace Network. Surviving are her husband, James “Mac” Rowan McAllister of the home; two daughters, Debbie Whitlow of Martinsville and Sherry Huskisson of Austin, Texas; two sons, Mike Combs and Jamie McAllister, both of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Vera Grushon of Bellbrook, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken Hughes officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Debbie Whitlow, 856 Turner Ashby Road, Martinsville.
