Richard Beckett Family-Placed Obituary BECKETT, Richard M. age 72, of Miamisburg, OH. Passed away Saturday May 21, 2005 at the V.A. Medical Center. Dick was born in Jefferson Twp. on uly 16, 1932 on the family farm to the late Charles Robert & Harriett Lucille (Wogaman) Beckett. Dick was an electrician at N.C.R. for 26 years and Inland Division of G.M. for 7 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Dick was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Other memberships included the Vandalia VFW, Boys Club, Pee Wee Football Coach, Director of the Black Knights Club, Paralyzed Veterans of America, V.A. Building Bridges Program, 12 year participant of the National Wheelchair Olympics and a participant in the Petrofssky Wright State Research Program. Dick is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Charles R. and Clare Beckett of West Carrollton, Steve and Diana Beckett of Dayton, three daughters and son-in-law Debra and Jeff Wead of NE, Deana and Hans Myers of Miamisburg, Denise and Jim Haws of Waynesville, one brother Pete and wife Carol Beckett of AK., two sisters Linda and husband Bob Lemons of Miamisburg, Judy and husband Ronald Kash of AZ., 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren Visitation will be Tuesday May 24, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. at the SANNER FUNERAL HOME 800 SO. ALEX RD. WEST CARROLLTON. Funeral services will be Wednesday May 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church of West Carrollton, 410 East Pease Ave. Pastor Dean Haferman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Paralyzed Veterans of America, Wheelchair Games.
