WHITWORTH, Lester "Les" Age 82 of Miami Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 16, 2016, with family at his side. Les was a 1952 graduate of West Carrolton High School and the University of Dayton class of 1962. He was employed by Oxford Paper Company and Schreiber Corporation from 1955 until 1971. Les founded Whitworth Bus Sales in 1971 and worked until his retirement in 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Bonnie (Wood), parents Clayborn and Dora Whitworth, and in-laws, James and Laura Wood. Les is survived by son Kevin (Janice) Whitworth, daughter Duneen (Ron) DeVore, grandchildren Dustin, Brandon (Ashley) Whitworth, Mackenzie (Joshua) Hail, Erick and Nicholas DeVore, and great granddaughters Leanne and Kaelynn Hail. Les was loved and cherished by his special friend Joanne Sisk. He was an active member of the Miamisburg Moose Lodge #1645, and a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in West Carrollton. The family sends their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Specialty Physicians of Kettering Medical Center and the Nurses and Staff of the Cardio-Thoracic Care Unit. Les cherished his loving family and friends, special relationships at the Moose Lodge, as well as his neighbors and golfing companions in Cape Coral, FL. and Dayton, Ohio. Funeral Service 11 am Saturday July 23, 2016 at Normandy United Methodist Church 450 W. Alexandersville-Bellbrook Rd Dayton, Ohio 45459. Pastor Jim Riggs officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton.
