ROBERTS, Norma J. (Bowden) age 77 of West End, NC, 
passed away February 17, 2012. She was born September 23, 
1934 in West Carrollton, OH. She graduated from West 
Carrollton High School, class of 1953. She was employed at the 
Ohio Bell Telephone Company and retired in 1962. She was 
preceded in death by her parents George and Wilma (Morris) 
Bowden, two sisters, Wilma Salzgeber and Barbara Sheridan 
and one brother, Dick Bowden. She is survived by her husband 
of 56 years, Harold Roberts, one daughter, Tracy Painter (Richard) 
of Effingham, IL, one son, Mark Roberts of West End, NC, Two 
granddaughters Jamie Roberts and Kirsten Chitwood of Effingham, 
IL, two great granddaughters, Kaytlynn Roberts and Karsyn 
Gouchenouer of Effingham, IL, two brothers, Bill Bowden (Alta) of 
West Carrollton, OH, George Bowden (Marilyn) of Waynesville, OH, 
two sisters, Doris Kilway of Akron, OH and Sue Parks (Earl) of 
Miamisburg, OH. Two sisters-in-law Janice Bowden (Dick) of 
Miami Twp. OH, and Anita Braye of Cleveland OH, one brother-in-
law, Tom Sheridan (Barbara) of Miami Twp. OH, and 52 nieces and 
nephews. Norma was an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran 
Church in Pinehurst, NC and the Red Hat Society for many years. 
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and her dog, 
Nubbin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Liberty 
Hospice Services, 300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, NC. 
28367. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 3, 2012 
at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Road, Dayton 
OH. 45449 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends after the service.
