HORNER, Samuel E. (Gene) age 74, passed away Saturday Feb. 9, 2008 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Freda June Horner, 3 children Cynthia A. Burgett (Curtis), Samuel A. Horner (Connie), Lorie J. Forsythe (Dwight), 6 grandchildren Jerod Feltner, April Petrey (Kenny), Amie Minniear (David), Dustin Horner (Crystal DiPalma), Cody and Michaela Forsythe, sister Florence E. Moses (Betty), best friend James Parker (Betty) and many other family and friends. Samuel was a long time member of the Miamisburg Assembly of God. He loved playing the guitar and banjo. Gene enjoyed playing music and singing in the gospel group, "The King's Messengers". He was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed here on Earth as he is welcomed with joy into Heaven. Funeral services will be Wednesday Feb. 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the SANNER FUNERAL HOME, 800 SO. ALEX RD., WEST CARROLLTON with Pastor John Swint officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Special thanks and sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Miami Shores of Moraine Nursing Facility whose dedication to patient care and rights are unsurpassable. The entire staff goes above and beyond to insure residents are well cared for and happy. We would like to especially thank the staff in the ventilator unit for the care given Samuel during his long illness.
