ELAM, Virginia Joanna Jackson Age 79, passed away peacefully soon after a sudden illness, on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Atrium Medical Center. She was born April 14, 1937 in Miami Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1954 and lived all her life in the Miami Valley area. She was a LPN for a time, but was best known as a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. She and her husband Cliff enjoyed 15 years as snowbirds in Leesburg, Florida. She was a long time member of the Towne Boulevard Church of God and demonstrated a love for God, family, friends and home. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clifford Elam in 2014; an infant son, Michael Jay Elam; her father, Arthur B. Jackson; her mother, Nora Pennington Jackson; and her brother, Norman E. Jackson. She leaves behind her son, Alan R. Elam (Barbara), daughter, Jeana K. Brewer (Dale), daughter Susan G. Caudill; and a sister-in-law, Nancy J. Jackson. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jenna, Michael, Daniel, Nicholas, and Alan; four great grandchildren, Makenzie, Caden, Rowan and Liam; and two nephews, Christopher and Douglas. In addition there are many extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Towne Boulevard Church of God, 3722 Towne Boulevard, Middletown, Ohio 45005, followed by services at 12:00 noon at the church with Pastor Bob Manley and Rev. Christopher Jackson officiating. Interment will be at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg, Ohio.
