WELLER, Robert Gene age 76, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday evening, August 2, 2012. He was born June 8, 1936, in Miamisburg, the second son of the late Samuel Albrecht and Zola May (Creager) Weller. He was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, assisted for many years with the Bible Baptist Free Camp for children, he played harmonica with the "Golden Saints" and was active in the Master Club program. He was also a member of the Highland County Red Cross, where he was Team Leader for many years. He had retired from the Mound Lab in Miamisburg after thirty-five years of service where, he was a welding specialist and was considered to be the highest in skill level. During his distinguished career he pioneered many new and specialized welding techniques. On October 4, 1954, in Liberty, Indiana, he married his wife of fifty-seven years, Lois " Darlene" (Helfinstine) Weller, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Dennis Michael Weller and his wife Midge of Belfast, Mark Anthony Weller and his wife Debbie of Wapakoneta and James Dean Weller and his wife Renee of Germantown; welve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Louis (Doris) Weller of Dayton, Samuel Lee (Ruth) Weller of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Thomas Walter (Sandy) Weller of West Carrollton; a sister, Kathleen Ingles of Miamisburg; a special family friend, Courtiney Williams of Mason, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Clinton Weller. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. Pastor Dan Lamb will officiate. Burial will follow in the David's Cemetery in Kettering.
