LAKINS, Jr., Ellis Leonard age 75 of Miamisburg, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at his residence. He was born June 23, 1938 in Grainger County, Tennessee to the late Ellis L. and Julia Mae [Mallicoat] Lakins Sr. In addition to his parents, Ellis was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Lee [McKinney] Lakins on April 8, 2013 and sister's Louise Dunham, R.C. Irene Wilson, Billie Sue Willis. Ellis is survived by his son, Ellis Leonard Lakins III of Miamisburg and Jennifer Lakins of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Jillian Sizemore and Alexi Lakins; siblings, Bonnie Stone of Centerville, Mary Ann [Gail] Waddell of Springboro, Frank [Myra] Lakins of Centerville, Grace Crouch of Centerville, Larry [Carol] Lakins of West Carrollton and Janet [Bob] Walters of Kettering; his cat buddy, K.C.; special friend and coworker, Russell George, as well as numerous extended family and friends. Ellis was a 1957 graduate of West Carrollton High School, attended Dayton Barber College and studied at Sinclair Community College. He was owner and operator of Castle Hills Barber Stylists in Kettering and practiced his craft for over 55 years. He also served for the US Army as a lifeguard and tank driver during his youth. Ellis was a 5th Degree Mason and a member of the Miamisburg Moose Lodge. Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 PM Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Gebhart- Schmidt- Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 that day, officiated by Pastor Mark Scroggins.
