SURRELL, Fred A. Age 68 of Dayton passed away February 1st, 2010 peacefully at home with his family by his side along with the care of Hospice of Dayton after a long illness. He was born Oct. 19th 1941 to Allen W. (Jack) Surrell and V. Bernice Surrell; his father preceded him in death along with his loving wife Carol A. Surrell of Port St. Lucie Fla. Fred graduated from West Carrollton High School class of 1960. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. In his lifetime he worked at Inland and was a dairy farmer in Kentucky for years before moving to Florida, were he retired from the city of Port St. Lucie. He was a devoted son, husband, brother and uncle. He is survived by his mother Bernice Surrell, sister Carol Lawler and nephew Bill Lawler and friend Jerry Norman, niece and husband Julie and Michael Guerriero, niece Susan Maxam, grand nephew Jonathan Maxam and grand niece Valerie Maxam of Florida, & many old and new close friends. Freds joy of jokes, wondrous stories and a heart of gold will be forever missed by everyone who knew him. Fred donated his body to Wright State School of Medicine. No memorial service is planned at this time, memorial donations may be made in Freds name to Hospice of Dayton or the American Cancer Society. Published in the Dayton Daily News on 2/5/2010 1960
