PRETHER, Carl D. "Butch" Age 69, of Dayton, passed away Monday, 
January 23, 2012, at Kettering Medical Center. Butch was preceded in 
death by his parents, Lester & Helen Prether; and by one sister, Sandy 
Hines. Butch is survived by his wife of the past 33 years, Shirley E. 
(Shockley) Prether; six children, Sharon Morgan, Karen Russell, Mike 
Prether, Ken Russell, April Prether & Julie Russell; three grandchildren, 
Mindy, Maddison & Cody; one great grandson, Austin; one sister, Joyce 
Leonard) Long; and his extended family & many good friends. Butch retired 
as an electrician with Kettering Electric with 43 years of service. He enjoyed 
gardening, football and Nascar. The family will be receiving friends from 
2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday (1/29) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 
3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., 
Monday at the funeral home with interment to follow at David's Cemetery.
