Daniel Martin "Dan" Kingery, 57, of Priest River, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2005 in Newport, Wash. following heart failure. Dan was born September 3, 1947 in West Carrollton, Ohio the son of Rowdy and Jean Bowen. He graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1965, and attended college in Dayton, Ohio. Dan joined the United States Air Force in 1966 and served three years during the Vietnam War as an air rescue fire fighter. On December 24, 1973 he married Linda Marie Cary in Fresno, Calif. and moved to Priest River in 1974. Dan has worked for 17 years as a machinist millwright with the Ponderay Newsprint Company in Usk. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and everything to do with the outdoors. He is remembered for his great sense of humor, his ability to make everyone laugh, and his love for his family. Dan is survived by his wife Linda at the family home; four sons: Chris Kingery of San Francisco, Calif.; Tom (and Kristi) Kingery of Fort Hood, Texas; Ron (and Tammy) Kingery of Priest River; David (and Nicole) Kingery of Priest River; and five grandchildren. Survivors also include his mother, Jean Bowen of Ohio; one sister, Mindy (and Gary) Hall; and one brother, Tim (and Linda) Bowen; all of Ohio. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Rowdy. Funeral Services were held on September 3, 2005 at the Congregational Church in Priest River. Arrangements are made through Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River.
