GESSNER, Gregory Edward age 61, of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Wednesday, 
May 27, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born 
in Dayton, OH on August 5, 1947, to Robert Gessner (who preceded him in death) and 
Mary Lou (Thimmes) Conroy. Gregory was a loving husband to his wife of 34 years, 
Theresa (Heindl), who survives. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce and her husband, 
Mitchell Hansen; brother, Robert L. Gessner and his wife, Margaret; brothers-in-law and 
sisters-in-law, Tom and Pat Cahill, Jack and Michelle Heindl and Marilyn Heindl ; son, 
Michael and grandson, Tyler; step-father, William Conroy; step-sisters, Connie and Lori; 
step-brother, Billy; aunts, Janet and Ruthann; uncle, Ralph and his wife, Inky; and a host 
of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. His two dear pets, Emily and 
Lydia will also miss their dad. Greg was a graduate of West Carrollton High School. After 
2 years in the Army, serving his country in Vietnam, he began work in the graphics art field, 
becoming a successful entrepreneur through the opening of Pro-Stat, Inc. Upon retirement, 
he began a pursuit of his beloved hobbies of collecting firearms and playing cards. He was
a lifelong member of the NRA and VFW. Greg was a special person to so many, who will 
fondly remember how he brightened their lives. The family will receive friends at the 
TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at 
Grange Hall Road from 2-5 P.M. on Sunday, May 31, 2009. Funeral services will be held 
1:30 P.M. on Monday, June 1, 2009, at the funeral home with Reverend Kenny Hughes 
officiating. Interment will follow in Dayton National Cemetery. Many thanks to the staff of the
V.A. Hospital, who supported him and his family through these last difficult months. In lieu 
of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Pines Pet Cemetery at 764
