Hendricks, Darrel Glen, age 66 of Spring City, TN, formerly of West Carrollton, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2016. He was born May 29, 1950 in Dayton, OH to the late Lorene (Barker) and Elmo Hendricks. In addition to his parents, Darrel was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hendricks. Darrel was a graduate of West Carrollton High School, West Carrollton, OH, Class of 1968. After graduation, when scheduled for a 2nd try-out for the Cincinnati Reds, he instead enlisted in the United States Marine Corp serving in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Upon his discharge from the Marine Corp, Darrel began what would become 30 years with General Motors, retiring from the Truck and Bus Division in Moraine, OH, in 2000. After moving to Spring City, TN, he worked 8 years making animal feed as the "feed man" at Pennines Farm Supply. In his spare time Darrel's first love was deer hunting with his wife, Jill. He loved when the "boys", Jamie Hendricks and David Pryor, came from Ohio each year in November to hunt with him and Jill. Darrel loved the game of baseball. In his twenties and thirties he played softball for several different teams but his favorite was always Mr. B's; coached and sponsored by Robert (Weef) Barlett. He was blessed with many lifelong friendships from this team. Darrel is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Jill (Robinett) Hendricks of Spring City, TN; daughter, Tiffany Pyle of Miamisburg, OH; sons, Jason Hendricks of Palm Coast, FL, Jamie Hendricks (Missy Spisak) of Trenton, OH; sister, Linda (Mike) Wampler of Seminole, FL; sisters-in-law, Pam (Dalton) Sparks of Tempe, AZ, Brenda (Gary) Hill of Germantown, OH, Patricia Hendricks of Columbus, OH; and brother-in-law, Gary (Jane) Robinett of Paradise Valley, AZ. He leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive guests during visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Gebhart- Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will begin11:00 am Wednesday, November 23 also at the funeral home. Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg will serve as Darrel's final resting place.
