GARRETT Vicki Laverne Garrett, 66, of Jacksonville, FL (formally of West Carrollton, OH, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2017 after a short illness. A native of Dayton, OH, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Beulah Garrett and her nephew, William Richard McLain, III. Vicki graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1969 and received her Master s Degree from Wright State University in Dayton. She began her nursing career at Kettering Memorial Hospital and them moved to Jacksonville where she completed nearly 25 years as an RN at Mayo Clinic. There she served a preceptors to new RN's and team leader of the MICU before retiring in 2011. Vicki is survived by her beloved fur babies Diamond, Rhu rhu and Angus; a sister, Belinda (Don) Holder of Newburgh, IN; niece, Kristin Fields of Newburgh, IN; nephews, Scott Madewell of Newburgh, IN and Randy West of Las Vegas, NV, along with a host of grand nephews and nieces. Special thank to neighbors, Sallie and Rod Hollar, Diane and Joe Clairmont, friends Nancy Gay, Ting Comia and Charlene Whitney, who have all been like family to Vicki through the years. A memorial luncheon will be held at Church of Argyle, 6823 Argyle Forest Blvd., on Saturday, November 11 from 11am to 1pm.  Published in the Florida Times-Union on Nov. 5, 2017
