TURNER, Robert M. Age 60 of Forest Park formerly of Dayton passed away with his family by his side at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield Wednesday, May 18, 2011. He was born December 19, 1950 in Lansing, MI, the son of Robert A. and Betty Joann (Swathwood) Turner. On December 11, 1971 Robert married Dianna Rawlins in Kettering, OH. He was a retired Regional Director for AFSCME in Cincinnati, OH. Robert (also known as Bob or Mike) was a musician in several bands throughout the years. He was also an avid blackjack player, traveling the United States to various casinos. He wrote an educational book for blackjack players. Robert leaves behind his wife, Dianna Turner; mother, Betty Joann Summerfield; children, Andy (Carrie) Turner and Missy Turner; sisters, Ruth Hackett and Phyllis Turner; grandchildren, Jada Turner and Jerome Canady, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his best friend, Bill Sams. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at New Season Ministry, 1166 Kauffman Ave., Fairborn, OH 45324. A brief memorial service will be held followed by food, friends, family, photos, and memory sharing. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society .
