Diana was born May 30, 1957 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (U.S. Naval Base). She was raised in Dayton, OH and attended Eastern Kentucky University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Diana and Jim met while working together at Bob Evans restaurant in Ohio. They married in 1980 and began their family in Bristol, TN. Diana was a member of the Junior League of Bristol. She taught pre-school at the Creative Learning Center (CLC) where her love working with children began. Diana and Jim moved to Collierville, TN in 1994 where they built their home together. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Incarnation. Diana spent many hours out at the soccer fields and golf course supporting her two sons. She began working at the Germantown Village Toymaker in 1998 until January 2016. She loved the toy store because of her coworkers and the people she met. They became family to her. She absolutely loved children. Storytime and arts and crafts with the kids was her favorite activity. She made many friendships with customers from all walks of life. In October 2015, Jim and Diana finally made it overseas to visit Germany and Italy during Oktoberfest! Diana was always reluctant to travel abroad because of the legitimacy behind her Cuban birth certificate. However, her passport was approved and off they went for the trip of a lifetime! Diana loved her family, the beach, ELVIS and Neil Diamond, the Ohio State Buckeyes (O-H!), dogs, reading and spending time at the pool sipping on a margarita. Most of all Diana was proud of her two sons, Clint and Brett and who they have become. She was absolutely in love with her two grand babies Shep and Beau. They had her wrapped around their finger. They were her world! While Diana was going through her treatments, her biggest concern was knowing that her best friend’s grandchild, Caleb was going through the same process battling brain cancer. In lieu of flowers and with Caleb in our thoughts, Diana’s family has set up the Diana Borm Memorial Fund which will go towards Solid Tumor Research at St. Jude. In the words of Diana’s favorite motto, “Alis volat propriis” which means “She flies with her own wings”. This obituary is protected by copyright by Bartlett Funeral Home.
