MILSON (Waitkus), Lorene "Lori" 60, of Cape Coral, Fla., passed away October 29, 2017, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 18, 1956, to Paul and Dorothy (Rayburg) Waitkus in Dayton, Ohio. Lori grew up in Dayton, graduated in 1975 from West Carrollton High School and worked in Dayton until 1996. She also worked in Canton, Mich.; Put In Bay, Ohio; and Ft. Myers, Fla. She and her husband, Gary Milson were married 23 years and resided in Port Clinton, Ohio, and Cape Coral, Florida. They also spent several years traveling on their beloved sailboat, Tessa, and had temporary residences in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Key Biscayne, Fla. Lori attended Immaculate Conception Church in Port Clinton and St. Andrews Catholic Church in Cape Coral. Lori was an avid sailor, loved fishing, traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Waitkus, and her niece, Jessica McCabe. Lori is survived by her spouse, Gary, of Cape Coral; her mother, Dorothy (Rayburg) Waitkus of Dayton; her sister, Cindy McCabe; brother David (Sandy) Waitkus; stepsons Charles (Kerry) and Jonathan Milson; granddaughter Alexandra "Lexi" Milson; niece Amy (Justin) Gabbard; one great niece and two great nephews. A celebration of life was held in her honor Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m. at First (Beach) Baptist Church, 130 Connecticut St., Ft. Myers Beach, Fla. A memorial service and interment at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH will be held Nov.10th beginning at10:30 a.m. at St. Henry Church, 6696 Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio, 45449.
