Earl L. Philpot, age 58 of West Carrollton, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at home. He was born July 21, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Earl and Lillie (Brewer) Philpot. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his siblings, Barry E. Philpot and Darryl G. Philpot; nephew, Riley G. Stacel and the mother of his daughter, Kelly J. Grant. Earl is survived by his daughter, Amelia K. Philpot; grandson, Averyin J. Philpot; sisters, Sharon (Curt) Reigelsperger and Vicki Philpot; nieces and nephew, Starr (Matt) Markworth, Lori Stacel, Alexa (Sid) van Druenen and Jacob Reigelsperger; great nieces and nephew, Abby Markworth, Andrew Markworth and Madison Stacel and his 2 dogs, Sophee and Sadie as well as many extended family and friends. Earl was a 1978 graduate of West Carrollton High School. He honorably served in the United States Army as a Private First Class. Following the service, Earl worked for a period of time prior to returning to school and earning his Associate’s Degree from Sinclair Community College in an engineering field. Shortly after, he was employed by Montgomery County Job and Family Services as a Support Specialist and had worked there the last 12 years. Earl was an avid sports fan and followed The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings. In his youth he enjoyed many activities, including bowling and softball. Earl will always be remembered for the way he loved those he cared about and especially as a proud Papaw. Family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering.
