NEWLAND, James D. "J.D." age 48 of W. Carrollton, passed 
away Wednesday, March 26, 2008. He was born November 5, 
1959 in Hindman, KY, the son of Sam & Marie (Nickles) Newland. 
He was employed by Jamestown Industries, a member of the 
Miamisburg Eagles 2306, and American Legion Post #165. 
Preceded in death by his grandparents John D. & Minnie 
Newland, and Jim & Mima Nickles. Survivors include his parents 
of W. Carrollton, a brother Charlie Simpson and wife Maria of 
Dayton, a sister Wanda Hilton and husband Wayne of Miamisburg, 
his niece Jamie Allen and husband Chris of Miamisburg, his great 
nephew Sammy Allen of Miamisburg, and by numerous other 
family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on 
Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the SWART 
FUNERAL HOME, W. Carrollton. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 
p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions 
may be made to the James Cancer Hospital.
