BOWMAN, Woodrow W. "Woody" Age 93 of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006 at his residence. He was born January 6, 1913 in Farmersville, Ohio the son of the late Wellington Ward & Pearl (Narcisis) Bowman. He was the founder and owner of Woody's Market, Woody's Over the Road Restaurant, Woody's Little Farm, Woody's Drive Thru, the Wash House Car Wash, Der Dutchman Restaurant, and Woody's Farms, Inc. Woody was a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church, active in the 4-H Club in Warren and Montgomery Counties, and a generous supporter of many school and community events and activities. Preceded in death by the mother of his children Addie Louise Bowman, a brother and 2 sisters. Survivors include his wife Jackie of Waynesville, 2 sons Larry J. Bowman and wife Annelle of W. Carrollton, Danny L. Bowman and wife Donna of Waynesville, 2 daughters Beverly A. Wallace and husband Jack D. of Springboro, Nancy L. Hayslip and husband Michael E. of Centerville, 3 step-sons Terry Adkins and wife Kim of Oakwood, Jim Adkins and wife Chris of Germantown, Joe Adkins and wife Monna of Washington Twp., 2 step-daughters Susan Bavaro and husband Joe of Washington Twp., Julie Adkins of W. Carrollton, 10 grandchildren, 15 step- grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Germantown United Methodist Church, 36 S. Cherry St., Germantown, Ohio. Rev. Carla A. Stengel. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the SWART FUNERAL HOME, W. Carrollton. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Germantown United Methodist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Dayton in Woody's memory.
