HOCKENBERGER, Carol Lynne age 64, of Pickerington, formerly of Beavercreek, died Wednesday January 10, 2007 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center Hospice. Born December 23, 1942 in Lima to the late William Melvin & Marjorie Eleanor (Failor) Alexander, she received her BS in Education from University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music, and was a member of the Alumni Association for both. She was a private music instructor in piano and flute, a former 3rd grade teacher at West Carrollton Public Schools, and former music teacher at Greenhills-Forest Park School in northern Cincinnati. Member of Sigma Alpha Iota music sorority, and was a recipient of the SAI Sword of Honor and the Rose Award. She had a great love of music and fishing, and enjoyed spending her summers in northern Michigan. Survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Hockenberger; daughter, Amy Stratton, Hilliard; son, Doug (Cherie) Hockenberger, Lake Ann, MI; grandchildren, Jacob Stratton, Aaron & Gabrielle Hockenberger; and brother-in-law, Jim (Carol) Hockenberger, North Canton. Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington. Interment will be later in Bellaire, MI.
