ROBBINS, Ross R. 93, of Lebanon, OH died Thursday August 13, 2009. Born January 6, 1916 in Ithaca, Nebraska to Henry Nelson and Martha Emelia Johanna (nee: Beulke) Robbins, he was a graduate of Luther College and the University of Nebraska. During WWII, Ross supervised the building of airplane engines at Wright Patterson Air Field. He then taught at several schools, retiring from West Carrollton School District. A member of the Hope United Methodist Church and the Otterbein United Methodist Church, he was active in music and singing as part of several choirs and quartets. He was a beloved soloist at Otterbein. Preceded in death by his wives, LaVerne Olson Robbins and Florence Miller Robbins, one daughter, Kathie A. Robbins, two brothers, Earl W. and Harold J. Robbins, and one grandson, Benjamin R. Stevens, survivors include his wife, Barbara Robbins of Lebanon, one son, Dale (Lois) Robbins of Lyons, NE, one daughter, Sharon (Rex) Stevens of Pittstown, NJ, six grandchildren, Rebecca (Chris) Adams, Jonathan Stevens, Daniel (Ann), Joshua, Isaiah, and Rachel Robbins and five great grandchildren, Hailey, Noah, Hannah, and Lydia Adams and Mykah Robbins. Visitation will be 2:00 4:00 pm, August 19, 2009 at the Otterbein Lebanon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm. Entombment service will be August 20, 2009 at 11:00 am at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. Donations may be made to the "Otterbein Benevolent Fund".
